This intensive workshop will cover all aspects of letterpress publishing... composing, printing, numbering, perforating, cutting, scoring, and binding. The goal is to produce a complete limited edition artist's book in a single day. Participants will compose a short portion of text, to be letterpressed into small matchbook format. The edition will be 125 pieces of approximately 12 pages. Each participant will receive 20 books. Prior writing experience while acknowledged, is not required. All text will be derived through the use of chance operations and surrealist writing techniques. All participants will be given an opportunity to handset type and run letterpress equipment. If you're ready put a hand into self publishing, start small, and start now, Join in. Attendance is limited to 5 participants. Fee includes dinner hour munchies.
